So True

My sister sent me this email today, and although I have never really thought about these things before, the email is so true! Have a read and see what you think...

9 Things I Hate About Everyone
1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.....I know where my watch is, pal, where the hell is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?
2. People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the tv remote because they refuse to walk to the tv and change the channel manually
3. People who say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". Damn right! What good is having cake if you can't eat it?
4. When people say "It's always the last place you look". Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they? Gonna kick their asses!
5. when people say while watching a film "di you see that?" No loser,I paid $12 to come to the movies and stare at the damn floor.
6. People who say "can I ask you a question?".....didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?
7. When something is "new and improved!", which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement then there must have been something before it, and couldn't be new.
8. When people say "life is short". What the hell? Life is the longest damn thing that anyone ever does!! What can you possibly do that's longer?
9. When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks "has the bus come yet?" If the bus came, would I be standing here, dumbass?

Updates

Man I'm lazy with this blogging business.....Oh well, I finally decided to write an update entry to fill you in on the last...oh...three months or so! The main thing that has happened since my last post is the year 13 play. The year 13 drama class is rather small, just like the year 12 class, and they did not have quite enough people to act all of the characters. Ryan asked me to fill in, so I ended up being part of the cast of 'Ophelia Thinks Harder' last month. The play is a feminist version of Hamlet, told from Ophelia's point of view. It is very funny, and rather scandalous with all the mention of sex and virginity, and the scenes that portray these. Because of this, an age restriction had to be put in place which allowed only year 12 and 13 students to be unaccompanied by an adult, which I think may have contributed to the smallish audiences. My characters were a feminist who convinces Ophelia that men are scum, and "we must not let them dominate us anymore!", and I got to wear an awesome costume, the t shirt of which said "Burn The Bra" on the front, and "Womyn Do It Better" on the back. Hehehehe....as well as this I was the drama queen of the 'acting troupe' and the child in the play within the play. It was so much fun to perform but the audience on one night in particular was really crappy so that was not so great.

The week after the play we had our last lot of practice exams at school, as many of you are well aware. I actually found these exams a lot harder than the last lot so I expected to fail quite a bit, but I have done a lot better than I expected! English, media studies and history all went well, and I managed to pass geography which is a major achievement for me lol. I have not got classics or drama back yet, but hopefully they went alright.

Lately we have been having quite a few rehearsals for our year 12 play which is called "Dogg's Hamlet and Cahoot's Macbeth". We are performing this in four weeks, and no one in our class knows all of their lines yet. We are having intensive holiday rehearsals in the second week to combat this, but I don't know if they will be enough....

Well this holidays I am trying to save my money so that I can go on a major shopping trip during the second week. Me and Chantelle went to St Lukes last weekend and found a lot of stuff that we are now in desperate want of, so we are planning to go back and buy them soon! What I found is thisawesome jacket, which in the description sounds really yuk but looks nice on: a velvet/corduroy light green jacket. I know, it sounds really ugly, but it is definitely worth the $60 price tag. So I guess I'm going to be doing a few extra shifts at work this week to save up!

Thanks for reading my long entry!

The Ball

What a cool night! I started off being quite casual, and leaving everything to the last minute as usual, but once we all got to Claire's house it got exciting! All of us girls had our make up done by Claire's cousins, who are make up artists, while our mums oohed and ahhed over us. Then came the numerous amounts of pictures and poses! Just to make ourselves feel even more movie star-ish, we got everyone to take the pictures at the same time. It was quite fun with all the flashes going off hehe....The limo arrived at 6pm and we were off to Mission Bay for more photos.

The limo driver took us up to Bastion Point, and we lined up outside the limo and the city view and that. My favourite was a sexy one of Shen though, with him leaning against the limo in a seductive pose. It was quite entertaining!  We drove down Queen Street and upon seeing ghroups of Lion's supporters all dressed up, Heather decided to have a liitle fun. She leaned out the window and sreamed "Alllll Blaaackkss!!! Sit down losers you'll be crying in a few hours, go the All Blacks! Yeeeaaahhhh!" etc. It was hilarious, I wish I had it on video!

We arrived at the Crowne Plaza at 7pm and the photographer took pictures as we came out of the Limo and that, and we headed upstaires. Here we found waitors with glasses of sparkling Grape Juice...not quite as good as the real thing, but it looked just as classy! Everyone I saw looked beautiful, including the teachers! It was just amazing...all those gorgeous dresses and suits! The guys looked like mafia bosses and Pimps which was quite funny. We found a table, got up and danced and took heaps of pictures! I had about 3 of the proffessional photos done with different people, and the photographer took pictures of me and Jo dancing on stage (hehe) and other times, so it was good. My only complaint was was all the gangster music lol. It was fun dancng in the big circles we had going, and at one point when 'Wonderwall' came on we had about 30 6th formers singing together!

Bronwen got Ball Princess which was realy cool YAY go Bronwen!! It was a really good night in the end, but it's a shame that the after ball was postponed until Friday because that would have been a lot of fun.

Anyway, I hope everyone else enjoyed it!

Oooh Excitement!

The ball is tomorrow night!! Im getting quite excited now! I have my dress and shoes all sorted out, my make has been brought and tested out, and I have my hair appointment booked...now comes the hard part: waiting. We are going over to Claire's house at around 5pm to do our make up and get dressed and that, then we get picked up by the limo at 6 and have a tour around Auckland apparently! That should be fun, and I'm relieved because i thought we were going to be stranded in the city wearing gorgeous clothes for an hour and a half! Hehe...Then comes the afterball, which I am actually more excited about than the ball itself. It starts at 1am and the bus brings us home at 6....so it should be a god night! I am going to be having a loooong sleep in tomorrow morning though, and I think I will spend all of sunday in bed as well somehow!
Well that's all I have to say right now except for YAY it's the holidays!! and everyone be safe tomorrow night and have a great time!

New Thoughts

Man, I am so lazy with this blog! I can never really be bothered updating, but this time I decided to. Well, a few things have happened since the last time I updated. First of all, Toni has come over from Australia for a visit! She came to school to see everyone last Thursday, and then me, Heather, Lindsey and Jo went to her boyfriend Leo's house on Saturday night for drinks. That was pretty cool, but it was kind of over for me, Lindsey and Heather after Toni and Leo started chucking up together because they drank too much at around 9 30!! Hehehe...We didn't really know the other people, but we chatted to one of the other guys for a while and then left at 10 30...and apparently we missed the 'revival' at about 3 in the morning! But it's all good...It's just sad that she has to leave so soon!

Everyone is starting to get excited about the ball now...only about ten days to go! My cousin is making my dress because she is awesome at embroidery and all that stuff. It should be finished in the next few days. It's green shot through with gold...sooo many people are wearing green though it's quite annoying. Oh well. It's going to be exciting riding in a limo for the first time as well! As far as I know there is nine of us going in it, and we are going over to Heather's for drinks and photos and all that beforehand, as well as Claire's house to get our make up done. And then there's the after ball! Apparently the year 13's are organizing it and it's in Ponsonby...I just hope the bus doesn't leave straight from the ball because I do not particularly want to spend all night in high heels! I managed to get the Sunday off work though, so if we do go and end up doing an all-nighter I don't have to worry!

School is alright at the moment...I'm rather sick of the same thing day in day out though. I think we all are. We got our reports last week and mine was quite good if I don't say so myself lol  Drama is really the only subject that still draws enthusiasm from me at the moment because we are doing the most awesome play! We are joining two together, which are called Dogg's Hamlet and Cahoot's Macbeth. To cut a long explanantion short, they are about a gorup of people who speak in nonsense. They are rehearsing two Shakespearian plays, and there is only 1 character at first called Easy who speaks english, played by Jo. Enter the Inspector, an english detective who is convinced that something illegal is going on, though he is not quite sure what it is. He makes a whole lot of stuff up and it is quite entertaining. That's my character  Anyway, graduall the characters start speaking nonsense because it turns out the nonsense is an infectious disease! It may sound silly but it's the funniest thing I have read in quite a while!

Wow that was quite a long entry!
Have a rest now lol

Pleasantly Surprised

I was quite pleasantly surprised in the weekend! On saturday night I went to a party with Robbie-his friend David's seventeenth. While I did want to go, I was feeling kind of apprehensive because the last time I had talked to David was a couple of years ago, and he was rather immature and...well...rude back then. However, once we got to the party and saw him, I was surprised at how much nicer he seems. I guess he has grown up a bit, seeing as I hadn't talked to him in years, but it's good. Not only did I see David, I also met Kane, who I used to "go out" with at Primary school. What this really means is that back in the good old days of the Te Atatu discoes, we used to hold hands and get told off for it. He was at Robbie's house when I got there, and I was also surprised at how much nicer he seems. I suppose that's maturity for you.

On a different topic, I went to the Ball Expo in Manakau on Sunday with Chantelle, Claire, Heather and Kirsty. It took a lot of driving and some expert map reading by Heather, but we finally found the building where it was held. I had expected it to be like the Girls Day OUt, with lots of stalls and different companies. However, it was much smaller than this, with a lot of jewellery for sale, but not much else. It was a bit disappointing after driving all that way to get there, but we did magae to find a few cool things. Chantelle, Claire and Kirsty brough earrings and necklaces to match their ball dresses, and I found an awesome necklace that I think matches mine, but if not I will wear it some other time!

That's all I have to say.

Toni is coming soon and 3 weeks til the ball!!! woohoo!!

Ahh Freedom...

Woohoo my exams are over and now I have a four day weekend!! Ahhh aint life great? The exams went ok....English was good, and so was history, Classics was hard but I finished both of the essays...Media Studies was more difficult than I expected but it went alright....and then I had Drama and Geography.

Well. Our drama assessment was to perform a Shakespeare scene, and only three people in the class passed it. Me, Jo and Bruna got an achieved, and the rest of the class got Not Achieved because us three were the only ones that did not muck up our lines. Not that I think it is their fault though, because Mr Lee has not given us any help or practice in class. Being the relaxed kind of guy he is, he has talked to us all period instead. This was great for the first term, but when people are losing credits because of it and saying they prefer our old teacher because we actually did work with her, you know that something needs to change.

Geography was really hard for me because it just isn't something I understand. I did not choose to take the class, but Ms Taylor put me in there so that my timetable would fit. The exam was on the Amazon and the Waitakere Ranges, which I know a little bit about, but I read the timetable wrong and thought it was in the afternoon...so I left most of study until the next morning on the basis that I would remember it better that way. What a rude shock when I realsied the exam actually started at 8: 40 am! *sigh*

Oh well. Robbie came all the way up to school yesterday to walk home with me after exams so that was nice lol...then he came in for a while and met my dad. I'm surprised he that didn't sem to mind me having a boy in my room but I guess he trusts me or something! We are going to see The Amtyville Horror tomorrow night so that should be good. I heard on the radio that it's really scary which will be awesome because I havn't seen a proper scary movie in agggeess! And it's R16 so that's even better

Anyway it's time for morning tea now I think lol,

Something Positive!

Man I sound like such a moaner! Everything on this blog seems to be complaints lately...lol. Anyway, I think its time to add something more positive: no school for a week!! Woohoo!  Technically, it is not a holiday, but study leave for exams. Still, its better than the monotony of my daily timetable! i have spent the day trying to study for my english and history exams on monday, but I did not end up getting much done. Don't you hate that feeling when you come to study that you havn't actually learnt anything in the subject? I certainly do! Maybe I need to pay more attention, becuase the world war one topic seems rather... foreign.... to me. Oh well! As Ms Wood has been saying, these exams are only a practice for a practice for a practice or whatever so I don't think I will worry about them too much.

On a different topic, Toni is coming over from Aussie in 20-something days!! YAY! Aparently theres going to be another party at her boyfriends house so that should be fun! It's a shame that she's going to miss the ball, though...it would have been awesome if she could come but I think she's leaving a few days before it. Speaking of the ball, Ryan tells me it's going to be way cooler than last year so I'm really intrigued as to what is being changed. Maybe there will be a red carpet when we walk in or something? It would suit the theme of Fantasy At The Oscars...hhmmm...

Anyway, I thought it was about time I wrote something positive!

Maturity: Try It Sometime

I've been thinking lately, and have come to the conclusion that some people that I know really need to grow up and excercise some maturity. I'm not going to name names here, but I'm completely sick of certain people spending all their time backstabbing their so-called friends. I hear it everyday. More than once. "Omg did you hear what Sarah* was talking about today? She's so desperate the way she talks about him..." "I don't want to invite --------" "She's so spoiled..." "Insult" "Insult" "Insult"....and on and on it goes. AArrrrgghh!!

* Names have been changed to protect the unaware!

I'm not saying that I am completely innocent here-I have definitely had my share of bitchy, immature moments. But I have gotten over it, and I like my friends for who they are, even though they are mostly very different. So why can't the rest of my friends do the same? This pettiness has beeen going on since third form, and in sixth form it has not improved much. They complain about the fact that our group is not as close as we should be, but they add problem every day by making catty remarks about the behaviour, abilities or personalities of their friends.

It also seems that these people that are guilty of jealousy and/or immaturity feel that they can insult others all they want about any issue, but as soon as it is turned on them, they are completely blameless. I do not think that it is the right of the girls in our group to freely insult the boys but not expect it back. It's not feminism, its mean.

What I propose is that for one day, we try to put all the pettiness behind us and appreciate our friends for who they are, and see how much more pleasant it is. I know I make it sound like my friends are terrible people, but in truth they are a lot of fun. I just believe that certain people need to a bit nicer to each other, before they end up losing some great friends.

Again, sorry about the moaning, but think about what Im saying!

Grrrrrr....

OMG I am so pissed off with my work at the moment! for the past four days they have called me every day to ask me to work extra hours....this would be fine if it didnt happen every weekend, at least once during the week and just about every day in the hoildays!! Aaargghh!!! I mean, its fair enough that there is extra shifts that have to be filled, but I'm 16 and I need a life too! This probably makes me sound selfish, but I have two shifts a week and that's all I want and need. I have heaps of assessments and crap to do, commitments like studio show and that occasionallly, a social life, and on top of that my parents don't want me to work all weekend. I have told my supervisor that, but she continues to call me at all hours to give me the story that she tells everyone else about me being the last person left to do the shift!! Aaarrgghhh!!! And furthermore, most of the time this is because someone has called in sick, BUT on the one time that I was sick and called with six hours before my shift, I was told I needed a medical certificate because two other people had already done the same thing!! Is it that difficult to call one of the people that work during the week and ask them to work for five hours? How many times have I filled in for them??!!

Well sorry about that long rant, but I really had to get that off my chest! *deep breath* Aahh thats better. Now, on a happier note, I have just about finished my Geography assessment. It took a lot of thought but I managed to write a whole load of nonsense that might scrape me an Achieved. I had no idea what I was talking about, so it's quite creative, really. As I said to Lindsey, I could have submitted it for our English assessment!

Anyway, I apologise to those of you that actually read this for the apalling entry, but I had to complain!
